Ashley 1st XI (241/9) Vs Oakmere 1st XI (243/7)
On Saturday Oakmere 1st XI visited Ashley and losing the toss were asked to bowl first. The innings started shakily with a 10 ball first over however a wicket for Worsdale in the 3rd over got things back on track. The home side made the most of the powerplay with the quick outfield carrying the ball to the boundary regularly and the score moved to 61/1 after 10 overs. Dot balls began to build some pressure exiting the powerplay however boundaries continued to come. Sevi Cupido made the breakthrough in the 19th over at 106/2. The scoring however continued to the halfway point ending 25 overs at 132/2. After a difficult first half in the heat a strong come back was required, a steady start to the half brought some pressure and a wicket for Ethan Mackin (1/47) in the 32nd over bringing the score to 161/3. Regular wickets began to fall stunting the progression with Cupido picking one up in the 35th. After the 36th over, the next 4 brought only 4 runs and two more wickets as Cupido (3/32) and Matt Holland (1/33) picked up one each. Worsdale (3/63) returning to the attack claimed two in two balls in the 43rd over and the score was reduced to 196/8. The batsman ran lots of quick singles but failed to hit a boundary again until the 49th over. A flurry at the end brought a wicket for Benedict Verma (1/38) and 21 runs off the final two overs to jump the score to 241/9 off 50 overs.
A high score was always going to be difficult to chase however a good fight back had kept the target within reach. The chase got off to a racing start with 30 runs coming from the first 4 overs. James Norton and Worsdale fought through the powerplay reaching 48/0 off the first 10 and setting the platform for the chase. The 50-run partnership was ended in the 13th over as Worsdale (24) fell at 52/1. Norton continued along with Frank Herrington and the pair moved through to the overs reaching 88/1 after 20 overs. Herrington (18) was dismissed in the next over and Cupido came to the crease. The new partnership began to grow nicely as the pair reached the halfway point with the score at 110/2 off 25 overs. Norton brought up his well-made 50 in the 28th over as the partnership also moved past 50. Cupido followed suit reaching his own 50 in the 31st over and the score reached 164/2. The 94-run partnership was eventually ended as Cupido fell for an excellent 69. At 182/3 off 34 overs there was 60 runs required from the final 16 overs. Howdle came to the crease and continued with Norton until the long hard-fought innings came to an end as Norton was dismissed in the 37th over for 63. The score at 192/4 off 37 overs the scoring slowed, and the wickets began to come more regularly as Howdle (25) also fell in the 43rd over. Needing 27 from the final 7 overs the scoring slowed, and two more wickets fell in the following 4 overs. At 227/7 from 47 overs there was still 15 needed from the final three overs. In the following over a 4 and a 6 from Verma (12*) saw the target edge closer and Brandon Jones (5*) starting the 49th over with another boundary saw the team over the line. Finishing at 243/7 off 48.1 overs the Oakmere side saw the game home and took the 20 points.
A hard-fought victory saw a second win on the bounce as the team look to build momentum through the second half of the season. They look to extend the inning streak against Davenham 1sty XI next Saturday.

Oakmere 2nd XI (229/5) Vs Ashley 2nd XI (150 all out)
Losing the toss the 2nd XI were asked to bat first. Two early wickets fell including the in-form Dave Purcell (13) as the score moved to 13/2 off 4 overs. Ian Eaton and Paul Guilford steadied the ship and began to set the platform before Eaton fell in the 18th over and was followed by a 4th wicket in the same over. At 66/4 off 18 overs Guilford continued along joined by Dan Faulkner. The pair took the score to 81/4 off 25 as they reached the halfway point. Continuing along Guildford brought up his hard fought gritty 50 in the 34th over. The pair moved their partnership past 50, then beyond 100. In the 43rd over Guilford brought up his excellent personal hundred with a boundary. He retired at the end of the 44th over, ending his brilliant innings at 104 off 132 balls. At 191/4 off 45 overs the 125-run partnership ended, and Mike Dodd joined Faulkner. With wickets in hand a final surge moved the score forward until Faulkner fell from the final ball for a strong 43 and Dodd finished 20 not out from 17 balls. The innings ended at 229/5 off 50 overs.
A good first half saw a strong target set that would still require some good bowling to keep out of reach. The opposition got off to a slow start with some steady bowling from the openers. The early pressure brought an early wicket for Percy Bratherton (1/32) in the 6th over at 16/1. Ending the powerplay at 34/1 off 10 overs the early pressure began to bring regular wickets. Nick Guest claimed the second wicket in the 14th over and with a double wicket maiden in the 16th over, the defence was off to a strong start. At 65/4 off 16 overs the 4th wicket took slightly longer to come by, but Mat Giles (1/21) claimed it in the 21st over. The batting side came to 92/5 off 25 overs, reaching the halfway point behind the required rate. Guest (5/18) eventually claimed the next wicket at the 32nd over and claimed his 5th and second 5 wicket hall of the season in the 36th over. The score moved to 114/7 from 36 overs. Harry Peters (1/28) returned to claim the 8th in the 42nd over and George Warburton (2/15) came into the attack and took the final 2 wickets within 2 overs. The innings ended in 46.4 overs at 150 all out.
The 2nd XI finished with a 79-run win and get back to winning ways claiming the 20 points. The side will look to continue winning ways next week visiting Heaton Mersey 2nd XI.

Oakmere 3rd XI (150 all out) Vs Mere Europa 1st XI (239/9)
Winning the toss and choosing to field first the 3rd XI got off to a decent start with Jack Pickering claiming 3 wickets in the first 10 overs and the score came to 55/3. Wickets continued to come as Jimmy Sidebottom claimed 2 and Dan Gilbert claimed 1 to take the score to 156/6 off 28 overs. Jack Paget claimed one in the 35th over at 206/7. Pickering returned to the attack and took 2 more wickets in the final over claiming his first senior 5 wicket hall. The innings ended at 239/9 off 40 overs.
A steep requirement saw an excellent chase required to take the win. 2 wickets fell early moving the score to 44/2 as Pickering (12) fell. Sidebottom and Hamish Warburton began to move the score along well. Warburton (23) was dismissed and the score moved to 92 before 3 wickets fell for 3 runs including the dismissal of Sidebottom (37). To more wickets fell in quick succession and despite a partnership between Roger Pickering (22*) and Samorendra Singh (10) the wickets continued to fall, and the innings ended at 150 all out.
Falling 93 runs short of the target the 3rd XI is still looking for their first win of the second half of the season. They remain 4th in the league in a strong position and look to further strengthen it next week against Rostherne 1st XI.
