Season Finale at Oakmere
With one game each left of the season, both 1st and 2nd teams are just outside the promotion places and unable to catch the teams above them.
The 1st team promotion push was finally derailed by the weather 2 weeks ago which relented to allow Haslington to pick up a win, long after their game at Ashley had been abandoned. Despite 25 points last week against CH Ladybridge, it means Saturdays visit to Haslington will only determine the positions below the promotion spot booked by their hosts.
Overdale Lane sees the 2nds against Barnton, with the visitors looking for points to avoid relegation, whilst the 2s come off the back of a comprehensive demolition of Wilmslow Wayfarers (WW all out 25, OCC won by 8 wickets).
The U11s lost the Cup Final last Sunday by the narrowest of margins, as Alvanley’s last pair produced a controlled display to win by 1 run. It was a hard fought, close game and it was great to see so many spectators, on a glorious sunny morning, down at the club to support the youngsters.

Chairman’s XI v President’s XI 2016
Phil Guest’s Chairman’s XI duly extracted a revenge victory over Tony Newall’s President’s XI on a day when the result was secondary (except to Phil) to the pleasure of welcoming old friends to the club. A father & son theme ran through the sides with Nortons, Youngs, Groves’, Pickerings, Guests, Newalls, Karas and Hutchinsons represented by at least two generations. A charity guest beer and collection raised £120 which will be donated to Macmillan.
The Under 11s have qualified for their cup final, which is scheduled for the 11th September, after the school summer holidays.
We run 2 Senior Men’s teams in the Cheshire Cricket League, a Ladies team in the Cheshire Women’s Cricket League, junior sides from Under 11 to Under 15 and a midweek T20 side comprising mostly Under 21 players. We are currently developing a programme for younger children aged 5 to 8.
