Oakmere Cricket Club | Members of the  Cheshire Cricket League

Welcome to the 2018 season at Oakmere!

Here we are, mid-way through our Indoor nets, 3 weeks from CricketForce weekend, 4 weeks from Easter and this was today’s scene at the ground. Patrick will be tearing his hair out if the wintry weather persists for any length of time!

Indoor Nets are taking place on Monday evenings at St Nicholas Catholic High School, Hartford, attendance has been good so far, but there is always room for a few more! There are three more sessions with the last one on Monday 19th March.

U11s & Girls – 6:00 – 6:45               Cost £2:00
U13s & U15s            – 6:45 – 7:30               Cost £2:00
Adults                         – 7:30 – 9:00               Cost £3:00

Note: the Girls sessions are separate from the U11s and are part of our development initiative in Girls/Womens cricket.

All Sessions are run by qualified coaches but for the senior men we have a level 3 coach in addition working on both individual and team skills throughout the night. A great opportunity to fine tune techniques in preparation for the season.

Kit / Web-shop. We have a new web-shop and new sponsored Kit for the Senior teams. More details on the kit are in the most recent newsletter and on the Clothing tab which contains a brief explanation and the link to the new shop.

CricketForce weekend, the time when we have a working party to get the ground ready for the start of the season is over the weekend of 23-25th March. Our main efforts will be on Saturday 24th. We’ll be jet washing the nets, putting the tops back on the covers, generally tidying the ground and clubhouse, etc, etc.

We are (like all clubs) always looking for new players at every level (and either sex), we’re a friendly approachable club (except the skipper when we’ve lost) with great facilities so if you fancy a try, come along to the indoor nets, drop us an email, text or even call us.

We are also always looking for volunteers to help around the place, If you are retired or just have a bit of time on your hands during the week, our Groundsman has always got some grass that needs mowing. I’m also looking for assistance with keeping the website up to date, writing match reports, news items, etc. No web skills required!
